TRUST & TRANSPARENCY

Editorial and corrections policy

How we create practical credit education while keeping sources, limitations, and updates visible.

Education-first purpose

Content is created to help consumers understand credit reports, documentation, identity theft, and general financial concepts. It is not legal, tax, investment, or personalized financial advice, and it does not promise a credit outcome.

Primary sources

We prioritize current materials from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Federal Trade Commission, IdentityTheft.gov, federal regulations, and other official sources. Articles link to sources so readers can verify current requirements.

Review and updates

Guides display a review date. We review high-impact pages when agencies change guidance and periodically review links, dates, procedures, and terminology. Older materials are labeled archival rather than presented as current instructions.

Corrections

If you identify an error, email author@creditdisputeeducation.com with the page and supporting source. Material corrections are reviewed promptly and the page review date is updated when appropriate.

Commercial transparency

The site sells a book, educational templates, and consultation sessions. Commercial relationships do not change the requirement to describe official free options, avoid guaranteed-result claims, and distinguish educational products from credit-repair services.
